Lab Policies
Registration Fee
An annual registration fee of $35.00 per dancer is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. Each additional family member will be charged a reduced annual registration fee of $10.00 per dancer.
Tuition & Auto-Pay
The Dance Lab operates on a monthly automated tuition system. A valid credit/debit card or ACH payment method must be kept on file at all times. Tuition fees will post on the last day of each month and will be automatically charged on the 1st of each month. Tuition may be prorated if a student enrolls mid-month. Tuition is non-refundable once payment has been processed.
Late Fees & Declined Payments
A 10% late fee will be applied to any outstanding balance, including tuition, costume, and performance fees, not paid by the 10th of each month. It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to ensure that payment information is current and valid. A $25 fee may be applied to any declined or returned payment.
Family Discount
A 15% tuition discount is offered for additional immediate family members enrolled in the program. Discounts may not be combined or stacked.
Withdrawal Policy
A minimum of 30 days written notice is required to withdraw from classes. Notice must be submitted via email to info@thedancelabcolorado.com. Verbal notice will not be accepted. All outstanding balances, including the final month’s tuition, must be paid in full prior to withdrawal being finalized.
Injury Tuition Policy
If a student sustains an injury and is unable to participate in classes for more than two consecutive months, a doctor’s note stating that the dancer is unable to participate is required. In this case, the student may withdraw and receive a 50% credit for any unused, prepaid tuition. For shorter recovery periods, students are encouraged to remain enrolled and take advantage of available make-up classes.
Tuition Structure
Tuition is divided into ten monthly installments billed from August 1st through May 1st. If the season start date begins after August 8th due to the Douglas County School District calendar, August tuition will be prorated. The remaining tuition is divided into equal monthly installments regardless of whether a month contains three, four, or five weeks. Some months may have fewer classes due to holidays or school breaks, including Thanksgiving and Winter Break. Tuition remains the same regardless of the number of classes in a given month. No refunds will be issued for missed classes. Make-up classes are encouraged and may be taken in a similar style, level, or age group. Please contact the front desk for available options.
Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, we will notify our families via email of any closures by 2pm for evening classes, and 8am for all morning classes. Please check our website and social media for any updates on closures. Makeup classes are strongly encouraged should there be a closure.
Make-Up Policy
Make-ups are available for student absences and unplanned studio closures only (such as inclement weather), not for scheduled closures or studio breaks. Make-up classes must be completed within six weeks of the original absence and are subject to class availability. There are no refunds for missed classes.
Free Trial Policy
Free trial classes are available for any new students or current students interested in trying out a new class style. Free trials are limited to one class per style per dancer. If a dancer would like to try multiple classes within the same style (ex: contemporary 2, contemporary 3), they may try any additional classes after the free trial for a drop-in rate of $20 per class. If a dancer enrolls in a class after a paid drop-in class, the drop-in fee will be applied as a credit towards tuition for that class.
The Lab Report
Our monthly newsletter "The Lab Report" will be shared with families via email. Be sure to keep an eye out for all The Dance Lab news and happenings!
